ABOUT RACE PACE COACHING

Race Pace Coaching was founded on the Sunshine Coast by Peter McKenzie in 2012. Jacque McKenzie introduced the junior squad in 2014.

The training group caters for athletes of all age groups and abilities from beginners to elites. It operates at various venues between Coolum and Noosa (see Training Calendar) year round. Whilst there are many group sessions, the training programs are individualised, flexible and administered according to the race calendar and goals of each individual.

Regular training events are conducted at Coolum year round, giving members the opportunity to practice skills and have some fun at minimal cost. Events are varied to include formats that are not necessarily offered in other races, this creates interest and new challenges.Visitors are always welcome to attend this event

 

Whilst our training is always focussed there is an active social presence in the group as well with a number of social events occurring throughout the year. 

Race Pace Coaching also caters for distance athletes through online programming services.This includes both Australian and international athletes.

As well as Triathlon, athletes can train in the single disciplines of swim, cycle and run. Our training group competes in single discipline events such as the Park run, local cycle and swim events as well as all Schools events in Triathlon, Swimming, Cross Country and Track. The yearly focus shifts according to the season and events available.

A scholarship program is offered to selected Junior athletes, offering free coaching and some equipment.This program is backed financially by several committed sponsors(see Sponsorship page). Financial assistance is provided, as well, to athletes both juniors and seniors that qualify for Australian teams and juniors who attend National races.The training group has at present 8 athletes that are part of Queensland Junior Development squads and there is a strong and continuing focus on developing emerging talent.

 

As well as traditional swim, bike, run sessions the athletes are able to participate in body maintenance sessions involving yoga, mindfulness, stretching and meditation. Mental skills are taught as well in specific sessions but also in the day to day functioning of the training squad.These services can also be delivered online.

Our mission is to help each athlete realise their own individual goals whilst providing a fun, vibrant, motivating training experience.
